During July and August our traditional beach games take place on the beach of De Haan, Wenduine and Vosseslag:
- treasure hunt and sack race
- shrimp fishing
- beach flowers
- sand figures
Categories
- Category A: from 4 to 6 years
- Category B: from 7 to 9 years
- Category C: from 10 to 14 years
Regulations
General
- You must register in advance for the beach games:
- at the earliest 6 days before the game day
- at the latest at 12 noon on the day before the game day
- You can register at the information office, by telephone or by email.
When registering, the counter clerk will note the name and age of the child and the contact details of the parents. - The beach games are not 'day care'. Parents or other supervisors remain present.
- The beach games depend on the weather conditions and can even be cancelled up to shortly before the start.
Shrimp fishing
- Bring your own wooden net. No round butterfly net!
- Wear waterproof shoes/sandals (risk of weever stings)
- Time in water: 30 minutes. Only the catch within this time is weighed.
- The children fish without help from others.
- The children enter the water up to hip height at most.
Beach flowers
- The flowers (max. 20) must be made in advance.
- The children make their own things and work individually in their shop; others are not allowed to help.
Sand figures
- The children work with their own materials: scoops, moulds, etc.
- Shells and other decorations are allowed.
- Building time: 60 minutes.
- The children make the most beautiful castles and other creations in the sand; others are not allowed to help.
