Stock anchor

In the car park at Park Lange, near Leopold II-laan in Wenduine, there is an anchor that used to be located at the Manitoba slope.

This type of anchor is notable for its movable arms with a convenient hinge system and characteristic flukes with wide projections. The Trotman Anchor, developed and patented by John Trotman in 1852, was praised by the British Admiralty for its superior properties (including its superior holding power). It was widely used in merchant shipping, including on famous ships like the Titanic.
